you can see how the tax with 3rd party insurance would go towards the uninsured drivers problem, youd have the same issue as it is right now, no tax or insurance, as atm you need valid insurance to get a valid tax disc.

This would also affect the honest people more on top of everything already as you would obviously have to have some kind of tiered system of how much youd have to pay for this built in insurance, or if it was a mean of ever so many quotes youd have the people who should be paying more being under charged in chelsea tractors and porsches and the people in small cars paying over the odds.

In their infinite wisdom on the subject the gov would probably fasten the system to the CO2 tax system, because they would have you believe something ridiculous like more CO2 emissions means you are a more dangerous driver more likely to have an accident.

Unfortunately' date=' they're alienating a lot of car owners but winning over the particular idiots that don't drive, yet have a stubborn opinion about others business and like to see people suffering..... you know the type.

The trend in deliberate injury claims is supposed to add £45 on top of everyones insurance. Other countries have 3rd party insurance built into the tax disc and it is up to you to top it up to fully comp if you want. That might be a route worth going.

Exactly what they do in Australia. All the young lads buy cheap fast cars and run them till they die. They dont need insurance as its built into the tax. Only problem is you get 17year olds in classic scobbies or cheap skyline gts which tends to lead to more crashes etc.

like all things government tries the theory in principle sounds good but in practice is stupid.. i should know i work in Government ...

My car isn't used much at all it's now sorn but is still insured on the driveway... if i could suspend my insurance when i don't use the car or it's off the road because i can't afford to repair it for the MOT then i would... If the car were broken into then that's my fault to be honest with no seats in it and a roll cage there's nothing to see or be able to steal anyway !!!

I bet you as well when it does get back on the road i get pulled by police because DVLA are slow to update the information ... so i will be carrying documents to prove otherwise !!!! ...
