johnbyron 0
hi, im new to the vr6oc, i recently bought an old vr6 golf cheap as a bit of a project. the first and only issue i have is it wont start or turn over, aswell as this the electric keyfob wont unlock/lock the doors, i fitted a new battery both in the car and in thekey fob....the light in the keyfob still wont light up tho, anyway when you turn the key in the ignition with the battery connected all the indicators come on and there is no sound coming from the engine bay when you go to turn her over, ive done some research and think it could be either the ecu or the black box in the dash on the right hand side of the stearing wheel wich i believe t be the alarm control unit, i also have two other round keys, one for the alarm itself but im not sure what the other one is for..................... any help would be greatly apreciated.. thanks
kentyboy 0
sounds like immobiliser to me mate..especially as you cannoy unlock or lock the doors on the fob...does the car have a seperate immobiliser in the dash,or flashing light etc? could be the fob if there is no light flashing.... johnbyron 0
well in the dash there are twolights, a red on and a yellow one, the red one flash every now and again
kentyboy 0
that means youhave some form of alarm system fitted, possibly with an immobiliser...thatll be why the motors not turning over, call yourself an auto electrician to bypass it or fit another system, can be more hassle than they are worth sometimes..
