jsh712p 0
Hi. My first post - should be getting a Golf VR6 Highline in a week or so - got a question about diagnostics.Has anyone got experience using the various cables/interfaces etc to connect to the cars OBD2 port. Do some cables have the interfaces built in?I have seen some on ebay as "cable only - you dont need am interface" - and wondered if these would work/be safe to use.Any views or experience welcome.Thanks. VR6Rich 3
Best bet is to get VAG COM with an interface cable.

C8RDO 0
I ordered the USB cable and software fom vag-com.co.uk (they have an online simulator you can play with a bit).Ordered it about a week ago but have received an email saying that it's currently out of stock and I'll have to wait a couple of weeks. Would have been nice to know this before I ordered/paid.I know vag-com.co.uk cables are all for OBD2 connectors but they also sell a converter cable for about £35 to change it to OBD1.The cables normally have the licence 'key' built in so you can install the software on any number of laptops but they'll only work with the cable supplied.
