rsweeney 40 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 car has been off the road for about 1 and a half years.. changed gearbox, timing chains tensioners and guides aswell as loads of other stuff. loud ticking from airbox side of the engine, how do i get rid of this? will it go after a while? no noise from chain side Link to post Share on other sites

[/quote']you took the words right out my mouth! gizer blady awrsome de-greaser, use that! if you have split it on concrete idd mop most of it up with blue paper towel then use jizer followed by brake cleaner followed by hot soapy water with a big scrubing brush works well! lol made a mess one day doing gearbox fluid change in my works car park, nobody knows hehehe. Gazbarber1982 3 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 I had loud tapping once coming from the belted side of the engine and it was the pas pump. I thought it was the crank it was so loud and increased speed with the revs. New pump sorted it though. Link to post Share on other sites
