russj249 2
I've been discusing a few things with Jim Potter about a turbo build I'm doing. I know he's top notch on everything, and I know injectors aren't cheap, however I keep seeing these pop up on eBay, and I'm sure they are correct fitting, and size, but why are they so cheap?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOSCH-injector-440cc-Fiat-Lancia-VW-turbo-Ford-NEW-/280696298499?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item415acd9c03#ht_783wt_1139Any thoughts? it just seems 'too good to be true'
craggsy 91
They should fit as I see C20LET engine on there and I know they run same as the VR
russj249 2
This is what I thought as I know Saab injectors fit, and Saab is on the list. The other thing I was unsure about is the resistance. These are 440cc and 12 ohms and from the info I've found the standard VR6's are 196cc and 15.9 ohms. Will the ohms difference matter to the way they work?
FishWick 21
Any Bosch 150 series injector will fit in the VR6.Why are they so cheap? Well, no part no given for starters and he doesn't state if the static flow rate is at 3 or 4 bar and genuine Bosch 440s have a green cap and cost £50+ each. They look like they've been sprayed black, so are either chinese fakes or not what they say they are, but it's your choice. Take a gamble on them if you feel the need but remember you asked for our opinions on them if the motor runs lean and detonates itself to death :-)
jims13 6
if its to good to be true , it normally is ...as kev said, it may be worth a punt if they are uber cheap .. i cant see the link as im at work .
russj249 2
This was my worry, he just seems to have sold a lot of them.. I think I'll give them a miss, even thought they're tempting to try, it's not worth the possible damage they could cause. Unfortunately I can't afford brand new Bosch injectors at the moment as trying to do a turbo conversion and run a VR6 as a daily car when you've just turned 20 isnt that easy
