pete8tch 0
can somebody explain to me , thepoint of putting a 16v cyl head on e bay and listing it as NOT VR6 ,why,?? why would anybody do that? its not like you could be persuaded to try it is it , kind of i might as well try it sort of thing, it just isnt a vr6 so dont put it in the bloody advert, drives me mad doin a search an getting more results that its not .than will actually fit
VRmonster 1
yeah, i get really frustrated with this too. when you search for vr6 turbo on ebay.de and up pops a mk2 1.8 rear view mirror. advert reads: golf mirror 16v vr6 turbo g60. lol

antera309 3
If you were selling your VR6 on eBay, you might want to put "Not GTi" or "similar to GTI" in your description so that it appeared in searches for "GTI", this is acceptable. The example of the 16v cylinder head is abuse of this "trick" though. I saw a similar thing with a set of angel eyes lamps the other day where the description included "VR6", even though the lamps were for a Mk4. This is misleading and no doubt the seller wouldn't hesitate to leave negative feedback when an unfortunate VR6 owner buys them by mistake and wants to send them back. There's an item in eBay's rules about misleading descriptions, but eBay are only aware of breaches as and when people report them. If you report his ad to eBay, they'll probably get it pulled. As for his reasons for doing it, it was probably to attract bids from parts dealers or workshops that work with the whole range of VW cars & engines.[ Edited Wed Feb 23 2005, 12:01AM ]
acf8181 0
there is a good reason to do it....there are people out there who own both vr6's and mkII 16v's...they may be looking for a vr6 part when this comes up and suddenly remember they need that as well. if it really bothers you that much you should get out more! lol

jcorallo 0
We should all email him via the ebay site, asking if it will fit a VR6...........and another thing - anyone who starts the item description with the words "Here we have..." should be taken outside and shot!!! ...and then shot again if the description is ALL IN CAPITALS!!(I'll get me coat...!)Jules[ Edited Thu Feb 24 2005, 09:07PM ]
