Hi guys

I was out the other day and noticed my rear passenger window wasn't fully closed. When I pushed the button the window didn't move. I pushed the down button and the motor was working and after a second or 2, the window went all the way down. Problem was I couldn't get it back up, so I took the door card off and had to push it up by hand. As I know nothing about this I took it to the garage where I was told the cable was broken and it would be £280 for a new part fitted!!! After getting over the shock and saying no way to the garage I decided to have a look my self. Just been out and the cable running up the inside of the mech is moving up and down when I press the button so I'm thinking that the cable isn't broken. When I made the cable go all the way down I could feel a block of metal clamped to the wire that moved up and down when I open and close the window. Now I'm thinking this block should be fixed to the window clamp somehow to push the glass up and pull it down, so does this mean that the part that connects the block to the glass clamp is broken? If so can it be fixed? Does anyone have one knocking about? And a diagram, picture of what I am looking at?

Any help would be great. Thanks guys

Nige
