Dave_ciw 507
To be fair I have had people come to me for engines from a golf to fit their Sharan or Galaxy and I have offered to take their engine in exchange! But side by side they are different..... The cylinder head has more coolant hoses and connections on the people carriers than the golf!
russj249 2
Don't the people carriers have an air port for something on the front of the head too? i've heard it'd need to be plugged by welding something in if put into a golf.

Vw_owner 1
ok scrap the galaxy, an hour later a mk3 golf vr6 came my way for £200! the guy had it advertised as possible clutch problem as it didnt drive,my m8 towed me to my works carpark ,i had a proper looksy and found that the driveshaft had comeloose and as a result he had bent and sheered the bolts off the flange, not a problem for me as i have a brand new bolt set which i didnt use on the corrado! fitted the driveshaft back with new bolts about 2 hours ago, just need to replace the fuel hoses in the bay as there perished and spraying petrol everywhere! he must of been useing it like that! think iv got myself a little bargain! realy needs an oil change and the oil cooler seals doing which i'll do on thursday, right can someone shed some light on this, this model has a coilpack does this make it obd2? cheers
v6horse 1
Both obd1 and obd2 had the coilpack , only way to tell if I'm not mistaken is the check the throttle body . There is a sticky somewhere thart shows the difference .
Vw_owner 1
ah cheers, didnt realy take a good look at the TB but it all looked prety much the same as my corrado so that makes it obd1!

Vw_owner 1
haha yea saw it on facebook guernsey classifieds,i was in there like swim wear just finished off the fuel lines so its now driveable, needs 2 new tyres, oil cooler seals and an oil change, at the mo the oil level is dangerously low,and the rear disc pads need doing and the exhaust is getting changed as its so so quiet you can barely hear it, doesnt even sound like a vr6 imo.might just sort out the problems and give it a good clean and put it up for £1000 o.n.o as i dont realy need another car but i could hardly turn down a vr6 for £
