Timah89 1
Hi i replaced my thermostat housing at the weekend and it all works good, no leaks except from the yellow sensor plug, the O ring is in good condition and did not leak previously, is it either not plugged in properly (i have taken it back out and pushed it back in again) or are the O rings just no good even though no problem before???? Lukey. 381
the o ring will have shaped to the other housing and it could have been minutely different, best to use new o rings every time you take something out and put it back
Timah89 1
i thought as much, i replaced all other seals but honestly thoght these would be ok. Where is best to get them from as i have struggled to find them , or are VW the best?
Lukey. 381
yea i used VW ones they looked better than the spurious ones i got hold of, silcone grease them up too and they should last better from the lubrication and as another waterproofing barrier.I just did my whole thermo housing and distrubution pipe and i put all the part numbers i used in the post aftrer i found them, search the site for crack pipe part nos and my thread will turn up with all the numbers in it
