DsH 2
bump, sorry this is really urgent!
Daverse 175
depending on how old the bonnet latch is, you might be able to get your hands under the bonnet and give it a sharp tug upward and that will undo the latch. or try to get a screw driver around the locking mechanism. hope that helps
DsH 2
its a '93 i'll give that a go, thanks
VR6Pete 1,455
This is why you should have a lock somewhere on the car been here, done that
DsH 2
no time for gloating, i bought the car like this, i need it sorted before dinner time.
VDub_Steve 1
If you can get grill of there is a bit of plastic on the radiator panel covering the bonnet latch I had to cut a little bit out to reach the cable then voila

Ian_rogers 0
If uve got the grill off u can undo the bolts that secure the whole mechanism to the car, it's fiddely but doable I had to do the same
DsH 2
ok thanks ive seen the two bolts are they the only two i need to undo because they're the only ones i can see/ get too
L55KE B 1
Have u got into the car yet? I've also got no locks on my car so when my battery goes flat this is what I doJack up the front of the car. Carefully Attach the red jump lead to the power cable connection for the starter motor (but make sure it does not touch any part of the engine) Then attach the black jump lead to a good clean part of the engine or gearbox.Hook up the other end of the jump leads to a battery or car and you should should now have power so you can operate your remote central locking and get into the car!Hope this helps
DsH 2
i'll have to give this a go, how high off the ground do i have to lift the car?
DsH 2
still not running and its too low to jack upm where would be the best place to jack the car up given if i use 2 small jacks to raise it a little then stick my big jack underneath? there doesnt seem to be any decent mounting points. VDub_Steve 1
If you got a big jack then just take ur splitter off and jack it up on front cross member
bungy 2
Very easy if it is just a flat battery. remove an indicator and connect a 12v battery there to the terminals. It will be enough to operate the central locking and no damage.
Ian_rogers 0
Yeah that's the only bolts u need to undo mate n the whole mechanism will lift up
ian_GTI 0
Very easy if it is just a flat battery. remove an indicator and connect a 12v battery there to the terminals. It will be enough to operate the central locking and no damage. This is by far the easiest thing to doAll it does is reverse feeds the ignition
Lukey. 381
does it not have a boot key lock?
DsH 2
the bonnet release snapped aswel so now we're going to unbolt the actual locking mech and then we should be alright, we've got a new cable how hard are these to fit? but yeah we finally broke in with the good old wired clothes hanger but the cables snapped so thats no good
Ian_rogers 0
It's probably not broke, there is a section half way down the wing that separates so it's more than likely that
DsH 2
nah i cut the cables cover and actually pulled the cable through its definitely snapped
Ian_rogers 0
Ah I see! Good luck with it
