Will CV grease be ok?

Going to grease up my tensioner tomorrow. I have a load of CV boot grease, will this be ok as I have read the grease needs to be able to withstand high temps and I have not got a clue if CV boot grease can take high temps?!

I'd use wheel bearing grease as it's more suited. From memory, I think it's called LM grease. I don't think CV joint grease would be up to the job as it's a lot thinner and not as high temp.

i would put new bearing in if i were you there only about £5 from most bearing specialists

i tryed putting new bearings in mine, i messsed mine up, the bolt that holds it is left hand thread so it stripped the threads also for love nor money couldnt get the bearing out of the pulley! it wouldnt press out nor hammer out with the right size socket,the pulley actualy started splitting,im not dumb when it comes to bearings either but somthing wasnt right. just brought a complete assembly as i knackered the threads anyway.
