OBD2 2.9?

So I'm rereading the Golf+ magazine with the mk3 buying guide, and although it is very good it does state that the VR6 came as a 2.9 after 1994. I am well accustomed to the OBD1 is slower than the 2 due to better engine management blah blah but havent heard of the 2.9 being in anything other than the Corrado.

2.9 came in the corrados but only in obd1 form the only mk3 golfs to have a 2.9 engines were the syncro a left hand drive 4 wheel drive golf which was obd1 upto and 94 then obd2 after 95 also the obd2 versions came with a one off manifold that is corrado with the wider chamber but has the obd2 neck where the throttle body connects too

Yeah, I read that too! You would of thought doing a buyers guide, they would of done some research!!

Well exactly, although there is always confusion about the obd1/2 myth about more horsepower which I could see them publishing but pretty much plucking it out of thin air is pretty embarrassing.

Always wanted a syncro, specially supercharged
