electrical help required

right am just sorting out the electrics on my vr, and i think some ones been having a laugh with me, have connected up the headlights and the drivers side side light is staying on, so have got a constant feed going to it and same with drivers rear any ideas,??

Are you sure the indicators not on as they act like a parking light just a thought

has anyone got any pics of the back of the fuse box just so i can see and double check all is where it shoud be,,

The indicators will work fine. As above- if the car is parked up and the indicator stalk is still down (or up) then its just a parking light.

disconnect the drivers side headlight, see if the rear still lights up, if it doesnt, then youve got a short inside the headlight, if it does then your problem lies either at the main lighting loom connector thats clipped the the scuttle panel , or on the back of the fusebox.

what about the single connectors? how do i know which goes to which?

the single connectors that are not plugged into the fusebox will be colour coded and each plug will only fit with its other half, as they have different cutouts and slots

got a couple the same colour 2x male connectors and 1 x female,, if it wasnt wiring some would see that as a thing, lol

right the front of the fusebox looks fine to me . the connectors in the pictures, the first picture (red connector .Black/red wire) im sure is the radio feed that goes dead when you pull the key out, the next one im not 100% sure about, the next one (green connector, black/white wire) goes to the green connector block that sits behind the drivers side vent. the next 2 connectors , grey /brown. im sure they are left disconnected. the next one i am unsure of, the black connector below LOOKs like the wire colours for the washer jets.the next few connectors im sure there are plugs for them behind the dash, they are colour coded,and the final connector (red with red/yellow cable) connects to one of the pins at the top of the fusebox,its difficult to say without actually being there to trace wires fuse 21 is for the interior lights etc, so its possible you have a connector in the wrong place on the back of the fusebox, did you check it against the diagram i gave you?

thanks bud your a great help. yh the red connector in last pic goes in 30B. found that out because the vr6 wouldnt start the conected it up and life..

any ide on fuse 21 connector colour,, am getting there slowly i think .. Big thanks for the help..

sweet thats one sorted out. fuse 21 is 15 amp and feeds interior lights/boot light/central locking etc. it is connected to Conecctor L Pin 7. red/black cable . im wandering if that red and black cable with red connector (the first picture) is linked into the radio and ignition wiring, which is why your lights are staying on . check the back of the fusebox and make sure the wire colours are correct for connector L . hope this helps.

Dude i had a look on my fusebox thats out of the car. No 2 connectors are the same so you cant get them wrong . Have you cut and joined any wires?
