coxy2011 0 Posted November 21, 2011 Report Share Posted November 21, 2011 hi all new to vr6 ownership purchased about 2 weeks ago now an for the last 4 days ive had this annoying ticking from the drivers front wheel had the wheel off the caliper and disc off and cant see nothing wrong strangely when i put wheel back on noise will stop for around 5 mile and stay until i repeat the process over again im so lost with where to go next someone please help Link to post Share on other sites

jimmyb 2 Posted November 22, 2011 Report Share Posted November 22, 2011 Are they standard wheels on the car? or have you had new brake pads? if not did you check inside of the wheel? i was just thinking maybe the calipers just catching the inside of the wheel, sounds stupid but i`ve done this myself... wardycatt 7 Posted November 22, 2011 Report Share Posted November 22, 2011 I reckon you'd feel a vibration if it was the wheel bearing but it's worth a shot. The bearing on mine went from working fine to vibrating badly over the space of a week or two. The sound stopping after you take the wheel off is weird, but could be the key to finding the problem. vr6 newbie 0 Posted November 23, 2011 Report Share Posted November 23, 2011 Might sound odd but i had problems with persistent ticking and assumed wheel issues but turned out during a routine service that number 1 ignition lead was arcing out with no apparent misfire or running issues, just a thougt. coxy2011 0 Posted January 27, 2012 Author Report Share Posted January 27, 2012 Hi all well had this problem sorted after I changed the bearing the noiseStopped but now after around 2000 miles it's back I can't believe it don't No what is going on I just had both chains done last week due to a guide breaking I'm also waiting for a recon box due to second gear Syncro deciding it had enough.
