the last vr6`s where are they

Recommended Posts

hi, this is just down the road from me, its been on ebay about 3 months if not longer! i personally dont trust this car 1 bit. i mean obd2 all have no arches/oval repeaters(these look square to me), so even if its not dodgy its still hiding some rust under them plastic arches and clearly not original, not something id go for, unless it was £600 ;)

yeh maybe it is legit, but all the 1996-cars had elctro galved boots and tended not to rust,(ive never had a 1995 onwards-car with a rusty boot) and the price is steep, imo chances are if the boots rusty the arches are too, the plastic arches are probably the reason its been for sale for yonks, ive had 2 cars since this has been for sale lol, much rather have this if theres no hidden nasties http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-VW-GOLF-VR6-2-8-RARE-MODEL-OUTSTANDING-CONDITION-PRIVATE-PLATE-S-HISTORY-/160690504020?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2569e68154#ht_2360wt_1270 :) if you do want to consider buying it john il go have a quick look as its only 2mins away and if theres anything dodgy il let you know :)

I have a 1998 car on an R plate. The delivery inspection was carried out on 6/1/98. This one has been very well looked after and is in very good condition and has less than 60k on the clock.

I had another '98 model before this one, that had plastic arches on it. That was my first VR6 and I didn't realise that hey didn't have those arches after '96. I thought people just removed them. When I removed my trim there was bad rotten rust on all four wheel arches.

I THOUGHT I recognised this car

It Belongs to MASTIF a member on this forum. He had the car up for sale on here for £1100 and I had agreed to buy it. On the day I was going to collect it was asked if we could do it the following day as his friend had (i can only say apparently) had been in a car accident. I have sent LOADS of texts asking how he his and his friend are, I've tried calling but have had absolutly NO RESPONSE at all, so obviously buying the car never happened either. I have since bought another car and am VERY happy with mine, and I STILL can't get a reply from him......

Out of decency I would have like a reply as I was concerned for him and his friend.....OH WELL some people........

THE BUGGER.......I was having another look at the car thinking how nice it was, and was reading the add, at the bottom it said PJ car sales so I checked his feed back... turns out he's a TRADER and has sold a number of cars in the last 6 months....I'm really annoyed now..............

The price for that one on eBay is mega-steep in my opinion. I don't speak from experience, but I doubt there's much difference between an engine with 75k on it compared to one with 100k - certainly not over a grand's worth of difference!

I got a 100k Mk 3 Golf VR6, with full VW service history, for £1400.

And it looks better than that thing on eBay. Those plastic strips are horrid. Dragon Green FTW!
