rsweeney 40
im wanting to change from early type calipers to late type. the early type i have has wear sensors in the pads - will this matter when the later type are fitted?and would i have to bleed the whole system or could i isolate and bleed the front two ? cbmotorsport 0
it shouldnt make a difference as the indicators are in the pads mate, and when you change them aslong as the resevoir doesnt completely empty then you can just bleed the fronts
rsweeney 40
ccol, just fitted old one for time being but it leaks slightly. bloody light on dash coming up now - circular orange one ? is this because the wear sensor is off ? will this replace my knackered original - although mine is a vr6 1994? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK3-1-6-8V-92-97-FRONT-DRIVER-BREAK-CALIPER-/280708507416?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item415b87e718
Lukey. 381
most pads in the 288/312mm size (they are the same size, bear this in mind when looking for the best deal on pads!) come with wear indicator wires on them anyway, so you could still utilise them and stop the pad warning light coming on.that light is prob on because you fitted another caliper and the fluid level changed out of acceptable range, check the reservoir
cbmotorsport 0
As above check the level, if that is okay then for time being you can bypass the warning light by joining the pins in the plug together .
