Biggazvr6 0
My mounts are looking tired and could do with replacing. I've obv looked at the vt ones as these are the only ones I can seem to find, but Im not keen on the price for a full set. Does anyone know of an alternative to these other than a new set of oe ones from tps is stealers? Also does anyone do a solid mount kit? Cheers in advance.
michael5556 247
I have a vt front mount if you want it for cheap?
Ben Seabrook 4
pm Paul Parky on here I think he can make solid front mounts mate but otherwise the Vibratechnics ones are well worth the money, I have the fast road ones on my car and they made a noticeable difference to the way the car drove
Lukey. 381
you do know as a premium member you get some discount on vibratechnics?I upgraded all my 3 after my gearbox and front failed at pretty much the same time to VT fast road mounts.I thoroughly recommend them :-D makes the engine part of the car instead of a big swinging pendulum
filtee 0
Floflex do them a lot cheaper than vt. Not sure if theyre any good or not.
Ben Seabrook 4
http://www.vr6oc.com/user.php?id.9145 here is Paul's profile if you want a solid front mount mate
Biggazvr6 0
Wow an abundance of replies. Ive pm'd Paul so will see what he has to say. My gear box mount looks as if there is grease coming out of it. Are they fluid filled, I assumed they were just solid rubber? I'm guessing it goosed!Michael how much you after for the vt front one, delivered? Also what the condition/ age etc. Filtee, you managed to solve starting issue, I've read the cp sensor didn't cure it?
bungy 2
I got Vibra Technics mounts through the Premium member discount and saved about £50. Enough for 5 years membership. I got competition ones though and they are quite harsh.
michael5556 247
Pm sent.
Lukey. 381
the gearbox mount is fluid filled yes, they leak empty and then it doesn't work just slaps up and down, i found scrapings from the dipstick handle on the slam panel from the engine flinging itself about! lolAfter having the fast road mounts on i dont think i could tolerate competition daily, they are supposed to be three times stiffer
Biggazvr6 0
So the fast road vt ones are quite stiff then comparative to the oe ones then?
Lukey. 381
no they are just right, but three times stiffer i think it would be too much, it says on the site that the competition ones also dont dampen vibration under 3krpm, so in a queue it would shudder and rattle the car, i would find that annoying
oldmandon 1
You're saying the NORMAL VT ones are fine, BUT the COMPETITION ones are TOO hard for every day use??
Lukey. 381
yes.
oldmandon 1
I thought Biggazvr6 was gettin a little confused.... I've got a front mount to be fitted, but not sure if I'm going to yet. Main reason for getting it was because of the 6 Branch manifold, but mine has a flexi pipe in there. Would I still benefit by fitting the mount though??

Lukey. 381
Ill clear my message upThey make the engine noise a little bit louder as its more harder connected (awesome ingerlish I know!) to the chassis, but there isnt an appreciable difference in vibration and harshness, but it transformed the car, it went round corners better, accelerated better, braked better, it was like a transformed car, all because the engine now wasnt chucking its weight about and was firmly fastened to the carwhich is nice
oldmandon 1
VT road ones are fine..Comp ones are too hard, especially for every day use....

oldmandon 1
Will look at getting it fitted, espec after reading your bit about accelerating better......
Biggazvr6 0
That's what I thought. I think I'm going to get a new one instead of the one off michael556 as there won't be alot of price difference between his and a new one with my pmd from vr6oc.
