Lukey. 381
yea thats for full set, front, drivers side and gearbox. The gearbox is also not hydraulic so takes a failure point away
filtee 0
Wow an abundance of replies. Ive pm'd Paul so will see what he has to say. My gear box mount looks as if there is grease coming out of it. Are they fluid filled' date=' I assumed they were just solid rubber? I'm guessing it goosed!Michael how much you after for the vt front one, delivered? Also what the condition/ age etc. Filtee, you managed to solve starting issue, I've read the cp sensor didn't cure it?[/quote']Alreet Gaz, not sure about the starting issue. Sometimes it fires fine from warm but sometimes it's the same as it was. Strange. It does seem slightly better i suppose but thats the reason i thought maybe the one i got off you may have started to fail slightly. God knows. Anyway i'll drop some coin off when i get chance.Just been reading all these posts about mounts and i think i'm gonna invest in some as mine feel as though they're also gettin poooped. Does anyone know what the flowflex ones are like? Theyre a lot cheaper.
Andi 0
Great Thread. I'll be treating the car to a Vibratechnics front mount in the new year,
Biggazvr6 0
I think they are made with polyuralrne as the vt site mentions, therefore, quite harsh I'd imagine with maybe increased cabin noise. I'm only guessing. That sensor was fine on mine so maybe it's another one of the dreaded sensors failing.......
rodney 17
I do think it is worth claifying that in essence there are several versions of mounts... Fast road, race, solid.... differing companies gove you differing names but you get the idea...Each of these will keep the engine in place a little more then the previous and all a lot more than the standard mounts. When you fit these you are doing several things... you are allowing any vibrations seen by the system... (engine/suspension/shafts/etc).... take that vibration more directly. What does this mean??? if you take it to the extreme to make a point - fixed/solid mounts.... Any and all vibrations from the system (gearbox for example) will be heard and felt through then chassis back to the driver controls and the back in to the transmission systems. Visa versa any impact/vibration will be taken from the road and fed directly back in to the system... Again keeping it exagerated.... this means you place more force on any and all individual componants so the driveshafts, gears etc then must take the forces that the mounts would have removed... (after all thats one of the reasons they're there)...So when harshness is discussed this is what people are talking about. As you can appreciate the sound inside the car from the gearbox will increase..So I would always suggest when changing them understand the reasons for changing them and fit something that is sympathetic to that. There is nothing wrong with fitting them and indeed when you go FI you must fit so as not to rip them apart everytime you accelerate. But again... which to fit is your option...I hope this helps and as said.. always worth using your discounts off here.
