VeedubVR 0
Never really noticed until a few ago when i took the mk3 out for its last final drive before the makeover, but the gear changes were really sloppy! Might aswel be stirring broth....Best way to tighten up the gear changes? I heard of a few people using mk4 shifters....thanks

Andi 0
Can't say mines the sweetest but i wouldn't call it slack.I read uprated engine mounts can improve gear selection as well as other benefits.
VeedubVR 0
its really sloppy. goes into gear no problems but theres alot of playthink its something else rather than engine mounts tbh
Andi 0
Maybe worth having someone move the gear sticks free play while you look to see where the excesses movement is coming from.
donpulsar 0
Bushes can wear on the linkages causing sloppy shifts (having my gear linkages overhauled with new bushes etc as we speak) and from what I've read you can adjust your gearchange from inside the car/under the bonnet, there's some articles on vwvortex. yakuza racer 16
i very much agree on the bushes, first replace the bushes and then consider reducing your throw aka short shifter.
