binliner 0
My syncro is a 2.9 but has an OBD2 throttle body so I wanted to find out if the polished manifold of my highline would fit.. NS racing said the syncro had a larger manifold whereas stealth assured me the car had a OBD2 golf manifold to match the TB... so took Stealths advice and took it off today to put my freshly buffed up manifold on and seems Vince was wrong :?looks like I have a bit of polishing ahead of me ~[ Edited ]

binliner 0
I got the manifold on but its more restrictive than the one that was on there so I'll need to polish that one and swap them back
badboyV6 4
Have you noticed a power drop since fitting it then?

binliner 0
I might be but not until I've polished the 2.9 one It's running ok with the 2.8 one on but the charger is off the car for an overhaul as well... dont want to be restricting airflow when it's back on

badboyV6 4
Did you do that yourself the Justin??? looks mint for a home job- looks like the grooves are a bit of a nightmare though. If so how did you do it?? wet and dry wasnt it?

badboyV6 4
Is it hard work keeping it polished up then??? does it tarnish quickly? My girlfriends Dad reckons the best way to keep it polished is to lacquer it- but i dont think it would look as neat...
binliner 0
you lose some of the shine when you laquer it... not the best pic but the bottle in this pic is polished alloy that has been laquered and looks a bit duller than un-laquered[ Edited Mon Mar 14 2005, 11:52AM ]
badboyV6 4
Did you do that yourself too?And does the polished stuff tarnish quickly?
