Pete.sVR6 0
I have acquired some new 16" alloy wheels which are 16x7j, 5x100 et38 My questions are what tyres should I be using?, a guess would be 205-45-16 is this correct, they also didn't come with wheel bolts, so will I have to get new ones to suit or will the standard bolts fit?.Thanks. Peakz 0
I have 16" Speedlines and will be fitting 205-45-16 tyres on them. Standard VW bolts will be fine and don't forget to get some quality locking bolts too.The Anniversay GTI's had 215-40-16 tyres on their BBS RXII alloys but some people reckon they are a bit harsh. pete8tch 0
check the taper of the bolts if they arnt the same the wheels will come undone .
badboyV6 4
For 7" wide rims 205's will be fine. Ideally 7.5" is what you want to stretch em- dont know if this causes problems with rubbing though...
Pete.sVR6 0
Cheers, for the replys, 205-45-16 sounds favorite then , may end up getting some new wheel bolts anyway, and yes a set of locking ones are a must as well.
candleman 0
would there be rubbing probs with 215 40 16? given a 30mm drop?
dubloke 4
should be okay, but any lower may cause rubbing with rear passengers!
