You know when you get that feeling you shouldn't touch something..............well, that's about whats happened here!! Trying to get my beesting mast off so i can fit my ally one and i find it's really rather tight. I end up ruining the OE one in order to get to the nut in the mast. Once i got to that i put a spanner on the nut, slight turn and............snap. Mast comes off in my hand leaving the thread in the base! NICE JOB!! CHEERS!! lol

Anyway, whats the easiest way to get this out??? I'm thinking it may be glued in perhaps, to stop little beggers stealing it in the past, so i'm thinking my only solution is to gently re drill and tap it to suit my ally mast.........

IDEAS??

Cheers!

couldn't you just bin the base part aswell? if the thread has snapped in there wouldn't it be easier to replace it.

if its like mk2's then you just undo the headlining at the back and its bolted to the roof. just get a spare base bit.

anyone else know if thats a practical idea??

I was quoted 60 odd quid for a base for the Rado and that was just an amplified radio aerial. The Highline one is a Hirschmann (sp?) combined phone/amplified radio so will be even more. I'm just gonna gently drill it out and tap it i think. If i feck it up then i'll look at another answer.
