MJ Vr6 79
Mate, looks a clean and tidy job.. Am I right in saying that sump on that is really LOW..As I know someone who had done the same job BUT the sump was real LOW!!!
polovr6man 8
Cheers for the comments lads, ye it was a tight squeeze getting it in haha, also the sump was ridiculously low to the ground when the car was lowered so i had to higher it which isn't how i want it but is safe. i think i could put an R32 sump and pump on for an extra 2" clearance, so ive been told anyway. Andi 0
Nice, bet thats fun to drive. Is it running standard compression as i would have expected a bit more power and more torque than that ?
russj249 2
Nice' date=' bet thats fun to drive. Is it running standard compression as i would have expected a bit more power and more torque than that ?[/quote']Probably about right for 6 or 7psi though? Most of people on here are 15 or more lolOut of interest, what boost is it running?Very nice too by the way, imagine its pretty fun with some of the new BMW and Audi drivers! Lukey. 381
Nice work, you have to be careful with an R32 sump though as its alloy and would shatter if it took a hit
polovr6man 8
Cheers, The handlings not too bad considering ha. Its got a head spacer in mate and running 8psi to be safe ha.
polovr6man 8
Yeah thats the downside to the R32 sump its all coming back now lol, cheers

polovr6man 8
Bit of an update, a few shots of the car, Audi handle conversion completed. and Ive messed up the rear arches from trying a D.I.Y roll ha. Im booked in in the morning for a custom rear arch job. Also just got an 044 pump and some Piper 264 racing cams, anybody anything about these?
polovr6man 8
So a little update,Put 9j rims on the front and had it re-mapped. It made 282bhp but when i went down the strip at santa pod i only ran a 15 second so took drastic action.First i stripped it, put a fibreglass seat in and perspex windows and sun roofI then made a fibreglass bonnet (and im on with making a fibreglass tailgate at the minute)UndersideTop sideThen bought this Garrett GT35R turbo. Dual Bearing. The a/r of the turbo is 70, so the spool time is quite quick, oil lubed and water cooled, the inlet of the turbo is polished which is an optional extra when buying from Garrett.Just on with getting everything fitted and up and running now

polovr6man 8
Finally got them on and guess what, I've only gone and cross threaded the brake hose into the caliper. It only went a few thread then stopped and i though oh no. Took the caliper off and the first 2 threads are knackered. Unsure what to do now. A pic of them fitted though. They look bigger in person. That's what they all say lol.
Daverse 175
could a helicoil perhaps straighten the thread out?
Lukey. 381
Worst case does the threaded part come off and can be replaced on the calliper? Look good though
polovr6man 8
Took it down to my local engineering company and they've re-tapped it for me, all is well luckily. A Helicoil would have been my next option lol. The calipers a complete unit as well unfortunately. I'm also still waiting on my fibre glass tailgate from the paint shop, I'm dying to see it finished and painted so i can get it fitted. Ill get some pics up as and when i get it back. Cheers
