jamiehol 1
Started to replace my bushes on my VR6 with powerflex ones, got the passenger side wishbone off. But I can't get the the drivers side one off as the sump is in the way to get a socket on the bolt and take it out of the wishbone anyone got any tips on how to do it.Jamie[ Edited ]
acf8181 0
looked in the bentley and the haynes manuals and the bentley doesn't cover wishbone removal, and the haynes doesn't mention the sump bein in the way (tho it doesn't cover vr6 engine, and the other smaller engines may not get in the way)suppose you could jack the engine up! jamiehol 1
Tried dropping the subframe but the engine just drops as well obviously. At the moment i think the easiest way would be to drop the subframe off the engine. But I could do with a manual or some instructions.
acf8181 0
jack the engine up, and undo the raer mount, then drop the subframe?(thats would i'd do, but i've never done it so its just a guess)

jcorallo 0
I've done this. You have to undo the front and rear engine mount and jack the engine up a wee bit until there is enough room for the bolt to come out.Jules

jamiehol 1
cheers guys, i did think about dropping the sump, but i hadn't got the gasket and i need the car for monday. Ended unbolting the engine and jacking it up. I have got the haynes manual so have got all the torque settings.Just torqueing the bolts up now and it will back on the road.
