arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. warning read this

changed the dash today, got everything undone bar the two bolts in the front scuttle. pulls the bonnet release ... and nothing happened could not open the bonnet, could hear a noise in the middle of the front wing but no way was the bonnet opening...had to rip of the grill and cut a plastic guard in front of the catch and remove the 2 bolts holding the catch to the bonnet and the stay that stops it moving forward to release it, not a fun job and not in the middle of an involved job either.

turns out that my bonnet cable is in 2 pieces that join in a plastic shroud this had come open and the cables separated

so people go out and check yours now its in the middle of the os wing in a black plastic cover .

i have now tiewrapped it to prevent it happening again.

bloody daft idea an will always go wrong when you are stuck

happened to me before when changing the catch to chrome, total A-hole to put rite. let us know how the dash job goes...doing mine soon

just follow the cable from the catch back towards the bulkhead its easy to find, just put a couple of tie wraps on it

Same thing happened to me, its a real B*stard of a job to get undone without! Especially if you have an aftermarket grille and an anti bonnet pop catch as I have!

Ps. Make sure you refit the bulk head bung correctly or you'll end up with a soaked drivers side footwell like I did, as the bung slipped off and worked loose!
