DundeeDub 0 Posted March 18, 2005 Report Share Posted March 18, 2005 What I did today:Fitted new side strips,Fitted crack pipe,Fitted additional oil cooler,Fitted one new headlight to see what it looked like,Fitted new oil filterFor tommorrow want to:Fit Vibratechnics engine mounts front and back (gearbox already done),Get injectors off old manifold and put one my ported one,Re-fit manifolds, alternator etc,Fill with oil and coolent,Play about with the suspension to get right,Fix a fog light,Re-fit the old lights (well maybe might run the chav ones till tuesday till my next day off is, they are going to get smoked)And hopefully fit my new shoes if the adaptors come in time.hopefully will get everything done before i need to go to work otherwise i'll be stuck using my ma's diesel skoda till tuesday 1 question:How can you open up the lense of a headlight, I have heard of putting them in the oven or heating them up with a heat gun, any ideas.Here is some pics just now: Link to post Share on other sites

VRmonster 1 Posted March 19, 2005 Report Share Posted March 19, 2005 thats about it. lol. it basically has a thermostatic switch, so if your driving the car hard, then once it gets to about 90 degrees (or whatever stat you get) it flows oil to the extra coole, giving better cooling to keep the temps down. only really needed if you plan on booting your car around loads, or doing track days and such. but useful as aprecaution, Link to post Share on other sites
badboyV6 4 Posted March 19, 2005 Report Share Posted March 19, 2005 To open up the headlight you need to take the metal clips off. You can prise it apart with a decent flat blade screwdriver- no need to heat it up. It sealed with a pliable puttylike substace - cant remember what its called. Anyway best get some more before you reseal just to make sure you get it watertight :-) Link to post Share on other sites
