dearing5 0
how much can the v6 4motion take with a charger compared to a turbo in standard form??
Andi 0
On a stock engine the very most it will take is 10psi.
legvw 0
Plus the standard inlet will only with stand about 1 bar of boost on a 24v v6...
dearing5 0
is that for a turbo? or doesn't it matter whether its a charger or turbo? i thought turbos were more aggressive?
legvw 0
Both really, but more so turbo. If you run a large enough exhaust housing on a turbo then you'll boost later in the rev range, almost eliminating the sudden mid rev range 'kick' you'd get with a small housing, so more like a supercharger. legvw 0
Injector size depends on your final power output.

dearing5 0
how much boost you can run on either a turbo or charger with no head spacer
spadam 7
Would not turbo the car at all without a headspacer if you get 1 boost spike it could be game over. Just fit a head spacer save any oroblems then.
dearing5 0
true mate! i guess it helps for the future to..
FishWick 21
The only thing I would add is the plastic intake is only really weak in terms of backfires during start up, which can blow the variable tract cover off, or burst a runner open. A properly tuned 24V (i.e. no boost spikes) can handle a bar of boost. Also worthy of note is the R32 intake is stronger, but it doesn't fit the 24V head sadly. Good excuse to drop an R32 head on, providing it's a BDE engine :-)
craggsy 91
I can vouch for a bar of boost on a R32
