bradvr6 1
Hi Guys,I stared my turbo install this week. Engine is timed, front end is off and all is ready to strip down for the spacer install. I've come to lock off the cams with the locking tool and the slots are too low for the tool to slot into (by about 3 or 4mm). I've checked the timing marks, piston 1 is at TDC and both cam lobes are at rest. Does anybody know why this could be happening. Have I missed something obvious? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Cheers,Brad.
cabrioman 6
when the engine is timed correctly pistons one is NOT at TDC, by the sounds of it the cams are 180 deg out as the plate should slide in easy, turn the engine over so they line up and check the pointer on the clutch through the hole in the top off the bell housing or with the mark on the crank pulley and block ..... there is a guide in the premium members section on how to time the VR6 engine correctly
