Dirtysanchez 0
So, today I noticed I need to replace a front fog light bulb and a dipped beam bulb. How do I get them out? The dipped beam bulb appears to be behind a bracket and suggests that I need to remove the headlight to change it?The fog light seems much easier, I'm thinking it needs to be done from underneath the car, is this right? Also, just to save me a little time, what fitment bulbs are they? I'm assuming that my aftermarket headlights have stock bulbs. Thanks all!
Lukey. 381
what aftermarket lights do you have? the fogs are twist on from the back and take H3, most aftermarket lights take H1 in dips and should be replaceable in situ
CALICO 130
Headlamp bulbs as above should be able to be done in situ possibly a cover over the bulb part to remove the foglights can be easier to remove the light from the bumper but can also be done from above in situ. Dirtysanchez 0
I think they're Depo units? Here's a pic:Here's a pic of the "bracket" I'm talking about. It looks like it's part of the slam panel, but appears to be made of plastic. You can just see the rubber boot on the back of the bulb that needs changing.
CALICO 130
Yeah looks like you will need to take the lights out its only a 5 minute job though.
Dirtysanchez 0
Cool, that's a job for tomorrow! Looks like it's a few clips and some bolts?
Lukey. 381
Whoa that's tight,, 4 bolts 2 along the tops and remove the grille piece with the strip that runs under the lights and there will be 2 along the bottom
Dirtysanchez 0
Well, I managed to get the light out and changed the bulb. It still doesn't work though. Went through and checked all the fuses too. Well, all the ones under the steering wheel, are there any somewhere else? Can anyone think of anything else to check? To recap:Drivers side - Dipped, main and sidelights all working, no issues here.Passenger side - Main and sidelights working, dipped not working.I've checked all the wiring that I could see, it looks to be ok. I'm wondering if there's another fuse or relay somewhere I've missed.
Lukey. 381
have you put a meter on the contacts on the nearside wires?
Dirtysanchez 0
Not yet, annoyingly my multi meter has gone walkies. I'll pop out at the weekend and get a new one I think.
