FishWick 21 Posted April 26, 2005 Report Share Posted April 26, 2005 You need to reset the ECU after you change the Throttle Position sensor.There isn't much you can do by way of setting up, other than ensuring the throttle angle at rest is less than 14 degrees (VAG-COM required).Symptoms of a knackered TPS included erratic idling, flat spots and jerky part throttle cruising. stu h 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Report Share Posted April 26, 2005 if this is knackered will it show up on VAG COM??mine is sometimes seems ever-so-slightly (and i mean barely niticable) jerky at constant speed and a slightly erratic idle. no flat spots that i've noticed and the rr graph curve was about as smooth as Link to post Share on other sites
alanf 0 Posted April 27, 2005 Report Share Posted April 27, 2005 Any chance of the part number? as the sympton described are exactly the same as the ones I have ~ very jerky on off throttle, hanging throttle on over run 1600/2000 rpm! erratic idle and variable flat spots ~ had the codes read and they pointed to the throttle position sensor :? but I was told by both VW and Ford that it wasnt available as a seperate item but only with the throttle body &| which isnt cheap! thanks in advance Link to post Share on other sites
