Recommended Posts

went to inspect one today, suppose i was drawn by the 220bhp power plant.how wrong i was.flimsy panel and build quality.proper cheap and tacky int.thats as far as i got.couldn't live day to day driving a coloured cereal box.thanks, but no thanks.i'll stick with my VR . ;)

you cannot beat the VR build quality and power for the buck.[although it does like a drink!]

I was tempted by one of them before i bought my 2nd VR. Quick motor- when its running right. Wouldnt trust a fiat. Nearly bought a bravo HGT before that! Until i read the reviews- cambelt needs changing at 60k for a start- and the engines got to come out!!!!! Electrical faults everywhere.... Hate to think what the coupes like.... As you said bud- a cereal box on wheels.

fiats are poor cars - everything in them rattles like hell and the electrics always go wrong. The punto gt and coupe turbos are quite quick but they are sort of "go fast one day and the head gasket goes the next" lol! :P

I had a race with a fiat coupe turbo on the M4 and was having to let off or i would have gone in the back of him! and my vr is standard! ;)

vr's kick arse on the motorway!

I was gonna get one when i got rid of my corrado, not a turbo one tho!

I looked into them loads because I liked the look of them. But you think we have problems with our vr's? ha! I went on the forums, looked round and got advice -the shitty electrics and build quality spells shedloads of problems. like Warren says - the cambelt costs a fortune to do every 60k, and if you get a bad one -your in the sh*t!

I looked at a couple anyway and f*ckin flimsy ain't the word. Give me german any day!

we are all agreed then, fiat coupes are shite.you talk/have 'experiences' with people and their motors.

but they don't get it.a VR may only have a poulty 174/190bhp but when you get em rolling its a different ball game.that 4k rpm is the bollocks, tou ask any performance oil burner.S/C is the way forward.the cost though? arb/suspension/charger-not much change out of 4 big ones.

i had a new shape punto before the vr6...big mistake....3 gearboxes in as many years (and i'm fairly light on lcars). interior build quality was fine though, and nothing else ever broke....if i ignore the brakes failing cause i was too lazy to replace tottally worn out brake shoes (my fault totally)

not many of them are the 20v turbo the majority are just 20 v or the early 1s are 16v turbo and none turbo the 20v turbo is quicker to a ton than a sierra cossie. you can get spwcialists who can change the timing belts in situ for £300ish fiat want £1200
