Slim 0
If I were to put a different set of clocks into my car, would the other ones display the proper mileage, etc?I'm wanting to get rid of the green display and modernise my clocks a bit, but don't fancy mutilating the ones that are in my car in case I mess it up. stu h 0
i'm pretty sure they keep the mileage fromt the car they came from.you can have them corrected tho- there are firms that can do it and i'd imagine VW can toobut i suspect they ain't too willing for obvious reasons![ Edited Wed Mar 30 2005, 02:31PM ]
binliner 0
they'll keep the mileage on them and you can only add mileage onto them I believe
Slim 0
Bollocks to that then, I'll just get a cheap set of a scrap yard or something to practice on first.
acf8181 0
mileage is stored on clocks and is only adjustable when they have less than 1k on them (and will only go forward obviously) with 1551 tool.
badboyV6 4
How easy is it to remove the clocks? Im going to have to change the display from KPH to MPH. How easy is it to do this? Anyone know where i can get dial faces from without buying a complete unit?

antera309 3
The clocks will show the mileage of the car they're from. Also, if you fit clocks from a 4-cylinder Golf into a VR6, the rev counter will not read correctly. This is a shame because all of the "interesting" OEM Golf Mk3 clusters are for 4-cylinder cars. All VR6s got the boring black faced ones with green illumination.
