The Duke 27
I thought I'd show some of the work I've done so far to my Golf n it's quiet at work!!!I took my old VR6 for its MOT and it came back with load of problems n with all the rust all over the car it wasn't worth repairing. So the hunt started for something with less rust n worth swapping the good parts onto. When I found this.It was in a buliderds yard where it had sat for two years n it had a few problems but nothing to bad having only done 94k n a full service history. So I swapped over the Koni coilovers, 6 branch manifold and system, Audi RS4's n fixed the parts that were broken, heater matrix, glove box front fog lights and passenger seat.6 branch heat wrapped.New heater matrix in.The plan was to tidy it up n get it back on the roads. But then a custom cage come up for sale n that went out the window.Custom cageAll the interior came out and replaced the roof lining, A,B,C pillars with black items fitted all the wiring for the amp and speakers in the false floor. My naphew thought it was a climbing frame!!!all I need is the bucket seats and a couple of bits and bobs n the interior will be finished. Next up was to sort the exterior, the wings need to be replaced due to rust which I have ordered just wanting on delivery.Front end off to be replaced with nice new none rusty stuff. Polo rear door handles.Cult Society boot plinth. Rear spoiler and wiper removed and rear badge sprayed satin black. Crystal rear lights. While the front is off I cleaned and sprayed the front.Fitted a ram air feed.I've also fitted a stand off kit.MK4 wing mirrors with carbon fibre covers Relocated the washer jets ready for a smoothed bonnet.Satin black inlet manifold. That's where I'm at so far, still loads to do and will post up pics as I go along. The Duke 27
It's been a while since I've updated this, still working on it but a lack of funds has slowed things a bit, but thats another story. Just brought some parts.Genuine black Volkswagen grab handles (in need of a clean)Genuine wings shaved repeaters (in need of a respray to match my car)Hella quad headlights (one of the lights is broken but was always going to take it out and use it as a vent and will be resprayed black) Edited April 21, 2014 by Yann

The Duke 27
The engine bay is dark hopefully with some blue samco hoses and ht leads it'll bring a bit more colour to it. bit by bit it's getting there, I'm in no rush lol.
The Duke 27
Resprayed the headlights and the top two bars of the grill, fitted the mesh where the light is missing and fitted fly eye. Lukey. 381
I'd like to see the amount of light that comes off with the film on.
The Duke 27
It's meant to be completely legal as it's perforated so hopefully it won't make to much of a difference, if it does then it'll come off. I'm not 100% if it's gonna stay I'll wait and make my final decision once it's on the car. I had put it on the standard headlights and changed my mind.http://www.s2-dynamics.co.uk/storev2/store.php?page=viewproduct&product=fly-eye-headlight-tint-black-headlight-tint-1-metre-x-1-metreI hoping with it not being like a normal film it should be fine but we'll see when it goes for it's MOT!! The Duke 27
Think I've found how I want my Golf when it's finished, not into the wheels or the big number on the door but something similar http://www.tuningsuche.de/bilder/VW-GOLF-III-1H1-11-1995-von-Dirty-Harry-17747_o0.html Edited April 21, 2014 by Yann
Woodyman84 3
like rat look with a twist?can look good if you get it right but IMO very easy to get it wrong...
The Duke 27
It's not something I'm willing to take on but I was gonna get it wrapped matt blue anyway but wanted something different so I'll speak to the wrapping company when I get it done and see what they can do, might not even be able to have it done but I'm pretty sure they can do almost anything when it comes to designs for wrapping. I love the rat but was never 100 per cent on it on the mk3's but I really like this, like you say it's rat look with a twist.
The Duke 27
Started this last night and carried on this morning.Aerial now shavedGotta do the rear wiper and lines under the rear lights stillRoll cage resprayed white instead of black, will get it fitted once I've got clips for the ABC pillarsGetting there bit by bit but now to watch the 24hr Le Mans, missed the first hour forgetting the hour difference lol Edited April 21, 2014 by Yann
The Duke 27
Just got the quote back to get the car wrapped like I wanted And they want nearly £2.5k!!!!!!£1950 for the wrap£117 for the art work all plus vat. I am not paying that for a wrap, seems steep to say the least I knew it wouldn't be cheap to do with the art work but £2.5k, come on really
The Duke 27
Just got back from holiday and my brother took delivery of these bad boys or they will be when I'm finished with them lolI need to split them spray the spokes white to match the cage and a deeper dish to take them from 7.5" to 9" wide. I'm not sure what to do with the lips yet as I can't have them polished, they'll look stupid on a rat twist car so might spray them white or rust them with the exhaust. Also spoke to a friend of a friend just before I went away and he's gonna build me an inlet manifold to run triumph speed triple x2 throttle bodies and get everything up and running.
