The Duke 27
Thanks pal I've just found out that my three piece rims are welded the Japs do this as a "just in case" but does anyone know where in London I can get the welds split??? I'm gonna have new lips anyway as I won't them wider. Thanks
The Duke 27
Hopefully these are winging there way to me now.I know they look creamed but with the look I'm going for I can't go for new as they would look daft. But there structurally sound and light weight which is what I'm looking for. Edited April 21, 2014 by Yann
The Duke 27
Got home last night from the UK-MK3's meet at the Ace Cafe last night to find I had a delivery. My Cobra Imolas have been delivered. Seats, harnesses and side mounts for a steal. And there not as bad as I first thought bit of a clean up and there should look spot on. The Duke 27
Bit more work on the jam jar last nightThe O/S wing needs to go the body shop for some welding and then be bolted up. Once the front bumpers done it'll be ready to be wrapped........ once I've got the cash!! Edited April 21, 2014 by Yann
Lukey. 381
Cool looking seats for the rat theme, if the edge that you will lean and roll on to get in and out wears through you should sew a denim patch on, my stepdad did that with his old rat V6 sierra and it fits the look awesome. The Duke 27
Nice one thanks fella, I'll have to pinch my brothers jeans no way am I cutting up my Hugo Boss's lol
The Duke 27
Right most of you know that I was building a VR rat twist after I found a pic on Facebook of what I thought was photo shopped but looking on the internet I've found out the car is real. Now I don't know what to do, I don't want to be seen as copying someone else. Do I carry on or change?????????? I know some of you probably won't like it but I like that people don't http://www.tuningsuche.de/bilder/VW-GOLF-III-1H1-11-1995-von-Dirty-Harry-17747_o0.html
Lukey. 381
Just rattle can spray it, it won't look identical
The Duke 27
I was going to get it wrapped. Not the same no numbers on the side front and rear splitters kept standard and different rims. Now i'm not so sure, really don't want to be seen as just copying someone
The Duke 27
Managed to get the wing fitted Saturday which turned into a mare when I dropped the 13mm socket and took me nearly half hour to find it again!!! and one of the headlights. Sunday I sprayed the stubbies ready to fit. Sorry for the poor pics but there's not alot of room in there garage lol And the wing mirrors If I get my delivery tomorrow I should have the interior in apart from the seats bolted in, I need to get the brackets for them. The Duke 27
Finally got round to getting the cloth door cards I brought in and the custom cage, I was surprised how well the cage went in last time it was a pain in a** but went straight in this time. There's still a bit to do inside like the wiring for the I.C.E, the seats aren't mounted yet and a few other things I need to get to the breakers for but it mostly done. (Sorry for the poor pics in advance) Also fitted the mk3 stubbie wing mirrors Edited April 21, 2014 by Yann
Marneus 78
That's going to look cool!Where did you get the shorty mirrors from mate?
The Duke 27
Thanks pal. The mirrors were on eBay about a year ago, I did have mk3.5 before that but you don't see the stubbies that often
Marneus 78
Thanks mate , I'll keep watching ebay then lol
The Duke 27
There the only pair I've ever seen on there. You could get another pair and cut them down but I'm not that good at that sort thing so brought them lol
The Duke 27
After chatting with a few people looks like the jap rims I've got can't have the welds removed so if your ever buy 3 piece rims make sure there not Japanese. So looks like I'll be running 16x7.5" wide rims to start with. Who else is running 7.5" rims? I wanna use spacers what's best width spacers to go for to improve the looks? The Duke 27
A few more parts turned up this week. Lukey. 381
I'm running 7.5J et38 (iirc) with 205 tyres and don't run any spacers
The Duke 27
Have you got any please? I don't like it when the wheel looks to be sat to far in and thought using spacers would look better but if I don't need anything all the better. Lukey. 381
Any what? It's about offset as to where they sit in the arch

daveyboy 897
I run 7.5 up front with et35 offset I think and I needed 20mm spacers for the to clear the caliper but I've been told that that's just dare drrs's. I have to run 195 width tyres tho otherwise the tread sits out of the arches I also like a bit of stretch and ive got 205's on my rears which are 8.5's
The Duke 27
Thanks for that Lukey nice car by the way. I think I'm gonna run 195 I was looking at 165 but think its a bit to much stretch. I'll wait and see what they look like when there on and go from there. daveyboy 897
165 might be a tad too much. I'm not sure that beads will seal on that much stretch. I think 185 would be my limit. I'll put a pic of my 7.5 with 195's on over the weekend and see what you think Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
