vr6turbo 27
Hi guys i am replacing my rear beam, a complete rebuild with new parts throughout and polybushed.powder coated.i have an old style rear beam with the brake bias valve, to fit on my 1998 golfthe questions are.Is it worth keeping the bias valve system? andwhy did VW remove it in later models?I recommend corroless 2 pack for protecting the hinges we use it on subsea rov's and after 10 years under the sea this stuff is still on.thanks
Lukey. 381
Later models have a better abs system that used the rear rings to make sure they don't lock up, earlier systems used the bias valve to give more rear braking when there was more weight over the axle
vr6turbo 27
thanks lukey so its pointless fitting the bias valve to a system not designed to accommodate it
Lukey. 381
yes, if you have the newer abs system then it will already be doing this job
palmer 17
I am having real troubles removing my bias valve, the fixings are all rounded off :-(. My main question is, wat is the best way to get it off and is it even worth bothering about it. I have a 93 vento it has abs so is it actually needed or can i bypass it (mainly so i can jus rip it off). Any help would be very appreciated, Cheers

Lukey. 381
For the early teves-4 abs you still need the bias valve, the later teves-20 don't.
