Ban on car modifications?

Recommended Posts

i read about this the other day

Sounds like a total load of **** to me,

i dont see how they can police making every modified car retro fit all the correct parts in a time when police our stretched thin already.

Then there is loss of revenue of the entire industry

Track days, Shows, Halfords (lol)

Sounds like a total load of eu tosh to me.

Cant see it ever happening but if it did imagine how many sleepers would be out there

Modified officer noooo this is totally standard that turbo was there out of the factory! :P

It's all about type approval really. They are saying that when you alter the car from how it left the factory it won't have type approval so is technically illegal as all vehicles need type approval to be on the road.

Would need an IVA test to then get type approval at £500 or what ever it is.

As others say on other forums will be difficult to police and cost people jobs.

Also on another forum someone did say its easy to police as at MOT time they can see it has mods so will fail it so taking it off the road.

I think it's just Brussels trying to flex its muscles to control everyone, hopefully our government will feck em off on this too.

I still say we should come out of the EU, but that's another discussion lol
