The Duke 27
Is it possible to twin supercharge a VR6? I was just wondering it's not something I'm thinking of doing but I've seen twin turbo'd VR6's but never seen anything on a twin charged VR n wondered why
rodney 17
Anything is possible... I would assume the need for more of an Eton sit on top style would be needed for the second unit... plus a bonet buldge of epic proportionspulleys gonna be your issue mate... not the air of a tubi... Daverse 175
As said, running it off a spare pulley will be an issue, unless you can run it under the chassis leg off the crank pulley. Then just pipework and mapping will be your biggest problems
The Duke 27
So it would be a serious amount of work? How much do you think it would cost n what sort of power would it produce?
craggsy 91
It's more time than cash TBH. It's a lot of fabrication involved and you'd get no more than turning it which is easier
The Duke 27
I thought that would be the case with the BHP. Boredom at work makes you look these things he he
VIW28 29
I seriously think you'd struggle for space bearing in mind it woud probably all have to be at the front right part of the engine bay although I think I remember seeing one with a shaft that ran under the front of the inlet manifold? Bit of an effort for something that a turbo'd VR will probably still out perform! It could be a bit like this....two turbos and an Eaton charger and still only makes 213hp lol YouTube link -
The Duke 27
All that n 213 BHP, like I say it's not something I'm looking to do but always trying to find something different
FishWick 21
I would think the belt tension required to run 2 superchargers would kill the water and PAS pumps very quickly indeed.Might get away with a pair rotrexes, but anything else would cause massive headaches.1 turbo would do a better job anyway! ky_uk 304
Thid is my eaton charger it's all running now but just need to put a spacer plate on the engine block and replace the injectors and spark plugs and ht leads, once that's done remap and I think it's going to be near 300bhp D11PS
ky_uk 304
To be honest it's a work in progress I need the battery out of the engine bay but I am waiting for my rollcage to arrive so know where to fit things. D11PS and VR6Pete
