UnitedMotorsport 55
Thats utter nonsense. What ECU number do you have? 021 906 256?
BigDaddy 0
i have a vw golf gti one if that would work :/
Gordo91 0
Yea thats the number i have united motorsport. Not sure if the gti one is the same
UnitedMotorsport 55
GTI one wont work. What is wrong with the ECU you have? does the engine run? run and then cut out?
Gordo91 0
No it wont start what happened was the alternator went and one of the bolts rounded getting it off it was an allen bolt to suit the new tensioner bracket as mine is supercharged , anyway the bolt rounded and my mate told me he'd help and welded a socket into it to get it off but he didnt decide to tell me that when welding disconnect the battery and ecu and now the car wont start and is giving me an immobiliser code but mastertech in my work thinks itl have spiked the ecu what do you think? UnitedMotorsport 55
If the ECU responds to being interrogated for error codes, then I doubt very much that it is damaged, how ever with an immo fault it should start and then cut off after a second. If anything is damaged I would look at the black immo box, these are sensitive. Gordo91 0
Yea thats a good point the code is for a fault lamp open circuit or short to earth but as far as i can see there is no fault lamp? Where is the immobiliser box located?
UnitedMotorsport 55
You just said the fault code is an immobliser code? What are the exact fault codes stored?Immo box is right up behind the dash (read extremely hard to get to)
Gordo91 0
The exact code i got was this - 00750 fault lamp open circuit or short to earth. It was a check i done on launch as i dont have vw diagnostic equipment it came up immobiliser faulted then that code
UnitedMotorsport 55
00750 fault lamp open circuit or short to earth. is not a normal fault code that 021 906 256 has, because as you say, there is no fault lamp.
Gordo91 0
Yea thats what i thought, thats the only code i'm getting apart from my abs which i knew about but it just turns over and wont start
