abs cages

Guys , need to buy some rear abs cages, not called vw yet, has anybody got any suggestions of where I can purchase some from

apparently on the back two wheels there are two cages, that are ABS sensors ???

I thouhgt that they just pushed into the disk plate thingy and screwed in with some alan key bolts. Like on the front abs sensors.

never heard anything described as a 'cage' before. was under impression the sensors were clipped/bolted into hub as well.

do you mean the abs rings that clip to to the discs?

they seem to have various names...

Yes, I'm guessing morpheous refers to the ABS rings (sometimes referred to as "Tone Rings"). These are very "Cage-like" in appearance.

They are available from VW dealers or online at Euro Car parts (www.eurocarparts.com). ECP's part number for them is 417440360, for a 1994 Golf VR6. Other years/models should use the same part, but please check before ordering.

They are an interference-fit to the rear brake discs, which have to be removed. It's so difficult to remove tone rings from old brake discs that most people choose to replace the discs at the same time.
