851corsa 0
Just reached 95K, so did a gearbox oil change on the 4mo.30NM for the 14mm allen, fill and drain plugs.Used fluid came out a far darker and more viscous than the oem gear oil that the stealers now charge £17 a litre for.Previously there was a difference between gear changing when stone cold and when fully warmed up. Now it feels like it is at working temperature from the off.My advice: Make sure car is good and hot before you drain. Clean fill and drain plug areas before you start. Buying 3 litres means you have 1/2 a litre spare so squirt it in there, after draining, until those last drips of used fluid are clean new oil. Fit fill plug back on and drive it for a few minutes with lots of gearchanging. Let it settle overnight, then top up.
Mouzer23 0
My Gear Box has a spline with a pin in the middle. Not sure what size it is though. Can anyone help. Bungy?
bungy 2
I borrowed the spline tool to do my gear oil change. Make sure you remove the filler before the drain plug.
Daverse 175
Do you mean like this: Its called security torx, can get them easily enough. As Bungy said though make sure you can fill it up before you drain it!

Mouzer23 0
That's the one Bungy shot. What actually happened was the drivers side inner cv ( not the cv itself but that whole piece that connects to the gear box had pulled about an inch out. You could actually see the seal. I took it too a cv joint specialist who picked it up quickly and then hammered it back in so. The car was only rear wheel drive until this was nocked back. So it thought cool but what was stopping it from pulling out again so checked ETKA and saw that there are washers a spring and a cerclip gone as they should have never been able to hammer the shaft back in. My question is has anyone done this job before. I have clued up friends but apparently get this spring on is a mother. Any advice?Shot guys.Ps I think gearbox is bone dry as when I saw the seal it looked dry.
