antera309 3
I'm running GMax springs with Koni dampers, on 7x17" wheels with Proxes T1-S rubber, an almost identical setup to yours. The car handles like a dream, with suprisingly little harshness.

Atlas 12v 0
What drop does that kit give?
Ferrari VR6 0
The kit cost £236.89 inc VAT & delivery from Direct Car Parts and gives a 35mm drop, the real bargain were the tyres that i got for £62.95 each that's inc VAT & delivery aswell. Think you can get the gmax kit a bit cheaper like 10 squid cheaper but i was well chuffed about the tyres, think they've gone up now, but that's from Wheelbase Direct if anybody's searching for some new rubber. i'll get some pictures up when it's all fitted
Atlas 12v 0
I'd be interested to see the pics as I'm running those wheels and really debating what mm drop to go for.

dubloke 4
looking very nice mate, not quite low enough for my but its all down to how you want the car set-up and what levels of comfort/handling you want verses looks !
Ferrari VR6 0
I agree mate, i'd like it to be another 20mm lower but i had to compromise as i do a load of motorway miles... it's more comfortable than it was before but totally different to drive now it's on 17", i had the shocks and springs in last weekend and was driving it on the standard 15" for a couple of days, that's the setup for handling for sure, the 17s just make me wanna cruise 8)

Ferrari VR6 0
I'll do a proper photo sesh when i've given it the full cleaning treatment and post in the members section, this was this morning just after i got the camber and tracking setup. You're right about it looking lower than 35mm, my mate who does all the work to the car said it may settle slightly lower than stated by gmax, hope so

VRVIRGIN 0
beautifull m8, would like further reports on that gmax kit if you don't mind m8, got those rims waiting to go on mine, but decide on what set up to get.
fabio_vr6 0
35mm gmax it is to soft imo
Ferrari VR6 0
beautifull m8' date=' would like further reports on that gmax kit if you don't mind m8, got those rims waiting to go on mine, but decide on what set up to get.[/quote']Ok lets see if i can explain how it is...IMO: Gmax springs coupled with gmax shocks is comfortable and solid, i would say that it is more comfortable than the OEM setup and feels like a quality ride. The gmax setup offers a low ride and incedently me and BigSi have measured up and it appears that it has given a 40mm drop on 17" against his OEM set, soon to be gmax the ride's not hard and unforgiving it's solid and forgiving but when compressed it's as hard as neccessary for my needs and i do like to give it hell every now and then On 15" lots of body roll (but not all) is eliminated and the car turns in so much more sharply and holds a sure solid line round the bends without mid corner wiggles that happened with my OEM setup...On 17" IMO: The gmax setup returns the car to much more what it was like on the standard setup but low and with a kinda expensive, reasuring, quality feel. 17's bring back a certain amount of body roll and if your after much better handling on 17 it looks like you'll need to get some anti roll bars, more £££ :@ Now I'm used to my 17" the benifits are: a lowered cool looking car, a quality feel, and unlimited grip from the toyo proxes I'm only using my 17's for the summer and am gonna clean up my 15" ready for the winter months, in a way i'm kinda looking forward to getting back that sharp handling but will miss the amount of respect that random people have given my car with the TT comps...All in all i'm well happy with the gmax setup and it's done exactly what i hoped it would, well comfortable, improved handling and looking sweet I can only speak from experience of OEM and Gmax setups but in my opinion if you are after a very low, handling orientated ride, do not buy the gmax setup, however if you wanna go lower, have improved handling and retain OEM comfort, this is the one for you, i hope this helps... BTW: I've had no arch work done and get no rubbing at all but saying that it did rub twice when i had two mates in the car and was giving it some on a sweeping bumpy road... that was fun Cheers,Dave. BigSi 0
As ferrariVR6 said, we have done a comparison and got that the GMAX kit gives a 40mm drop. I've been looking for a set-up that gives exactly what FerrariVR6 describes, not the ultimate in handling, but a big improvement over the OEM, whilst still retaining the OEM comfort, (cos I use the car everyday and I do a fair bit of trecking around in it - esp over to Huddersfield where the folkes are and the roads round there are dia!).I did some shopping around and got the kit for £205 all in Bargin! They will be going on this weekend, so I'll let you know what my first impressions are! It's killing me having a nice set of yellow and red kit on my living room floor and not on my VR!
