Woodyman84 3
So basically in middle of the exhaust there are to straight pipes that join together with a sleeve with 2 clamps. It's n after market zorst, and after about 20 attempts its still pulling out. I've come to the conclusion that the pipes Arnt actually long enough. I'm thinking either a longer sleeve if such a thing exists. Or welding it but I don't really wanna go down that route.Any suggestions welcome
Daverse 175
Do you mean the clamps just arent tightening up enough?
Woodyman84 3
Well to expand on the issue one of the pipes has an extension welded on it...rather badly as well. This extension has a slit in it so when the sleeve is tightened on it the pipe just closes and so remains loose. This combined with the fact its still a bit short is what's causing the problem
VR6Pete 1,455
Check your engine mounts mate. Excessive play could be pulling the pipes off. ?
wardycatt 7
The folk that make Gun Gum have a kit which features a flexible metal joining sleeve and sealing compound. Would one (or more than one) of these kits not do the trick? Or are they too small / puny for the task at hand? 260623403922 - ebay
