sleepymike 15
I'm currently fitting a Schimmel front intake and fuel rail, I'm going to be fitting braided fuel hose and Aeroquip style fittings but can someone please tell me what size fittings and hose I need as I can't get my head round these AN sizes! Lukey. 381
I think the hose is 8mm
sleepymike 15
Yeah it's 8mm but what does that make it in AN size? I'm sure it's either -6AN or -8AN.
Lukey. 381
4 is 1/4" or 6mm 6 is 3/8" or 9.5mmSo you'll have to decide which.
sleepymike 15
Ok nice one cheers, guess I will get the -6 hose and fittings.
FishWick 21
Yep, the Schimmel fuel rail is -
sleepymike 15
Stupid question, but will the -6 hose clamp onto the standard hard fuel lines ok with normal hose clamps?
FishWick 21
Yep. It's not ideal really (which is I why I ran -6 end to end) but you can use 2 clamps for more security. Just don't over tighten them or you'll crimp the hose. The very end of the hard hoses have metal inserts, so your should be OK.
michael5556 247
Could you not just put a hose joiner in?
sleepymike 15
Hose joiner, for hard plastic to braided hose? Didn't realise you could get them.
