michael5556 247
How far has everyone gone with their fuel system upgrades. I shall be running the intank pump but not sure if I should upgrade this..It will then be going to a swirl pot in the boot, or is this overkill? Then to the Bosch 044 inline mounted under the car,Then a racing fuel filterTo the fuel rail,As its schimmel manifold it's has an adjustable fpr in the engine bay, with an inline pressure gauge. Finally back to the tank, Is this over kill for my vrt? craggsy 91
I wouldnt of thought so as most I know of just change the intank fuel punp to a walbro 255lph pump
michael5556 247
So I don't really need to go mental then do I.
matty.vrt 120
I have a walbro 255 in the tank feeding a 2.5 litre swirlpot then Bosch 044 to the fuel rail depends what power your after I'm going 700bhp so I feel it's necessary but anything under 500bhp walbro 255 in tank is all good. VIW28 29
Only seeing this thread now after I replied to your pm....Matty more or less said what I said to you! Those with intank Walbro's....is the swirl pot sealed so you can run the tank nearly empty? Or is less than 1/4 tank a problem?
michael5556 247
Can you not take the swirl pot out of the original pump, and put the walbro in the original housing? And ok I'm after 450 but want to do the ground work for bigger set up next winter.
VIW28 29
That's what's done to mine with the HRC pump but because the pump is slightly different shape to OE one it doesn't seal properly in the swirl pot.
michael5556 247
Ah ok. What lph pump are you going for?
Lukey. 381
Could you not get petrol resistant sealer?
MaidenVR6 26
I have a new oem VDO intank pump and a Integrated catchtank for Bosch 044. AN6 lines and Bosch motorsport fuelfilter. I have no clue how much all this will flow, but it works well to choke the t3 1.06 35R out of breath.
matty.vrt 120
Sounds good what's the most boost you have run on the pro maf setup?
VIW28 29
Mine is 260lph if memory serves me correct. Lukey, good point, never actually tried to look for some though lol
matty.vrt 120
I just used some sort of cable tie arrangement to secure the walbro in the standard swirl pot. Not the most proffecional arrangement but has worked a treat for the last 3 years
michael5556 247
Cool. Well I've decided to wait to do my setup, will just change the fuel lines and the regulator and put an inline pressure gauge in too. Then next year when I upgrade my turbo I will do a similar setup as previous page as I will be aiming for similar power. Thanks for all your help guys!
Lukey. 381
A nitrile sealant would be petrol resistant.
MaidenVR6 26
Sounds good what's the most boost you have run on the pro maf setup?30 psi on 98 octan pump gas. Above 30 psi the 35R is out of breath.I also got a Autometer fuel pressure gauge. Abit pricey, but its a cheap insurance. The Pro-Maf togheter with a adj fpr allows me to set the AFR where I want it.My AFR is set at around 11.7 - 12.1 full boost.AN6 flows plenty. AND the Integrated tank keeps the 044 quite. I used to have the 044 mounted alone next to the fuel filter, and it was crazy loud.
michael5556 247
I have mine under there and it's not too bad. Might be because the cars pretty loud. That's a little richer than mine. What is yours at idle?30psi! I'm running 5.
MaidenVR6 26
AFR idle is 14.5 - 15.1 Average around 14.7 as it should be
michael5556 247
Ok cool. Thanks! Mine is 17, so something is wrong. I think it's the maf. Thanks.
UnitedMotorsport 55
Ok cool. Thanks! Mine is 17' date=' so something is wrong. I think it's the maf. Thanks.[/quote']Yeah it is, target idle AFR is 14.7. Lambda control is able to pull out a max of 25%.17 - 25% is 12.7(Richer than Idle target AFR), from this I can conclude that 02 control is not active on your car and the MAF is reading wrong for some reason. UnitedMotorsport 55
Is the ECU operating in closed loop lambda control on idle?Check this by looking at block 99 on measuring blocks in VC.

MaidenVR6 26
For me, the Pro-Maf has been very good. ATP have GTXbillett wheel for the 35R. Gave 10%more air...... 600 USD,- Next turbo if i could choose right now would have been a Precision 6466 T4 0.
