Couple of photos from last time it was out to keep build alive.

First photo of my Two VR's together.  Not the best photo, but I had both of them out on weekend, and had to take one     Many more photos of these pair coming when the nicer weathe

I tired to hand paint my rear VR6 badge red, with a small artist brush. I went for hand painting at 1st as I wanted to keep the black outter edge. And didn't want to mask it all up. But it came out s

The paint in the engine bay was letting stuff down, now that I sorted the engine out.... it was the long easter weekend,

So I Started re-painting it on my drive way...

Removed all seam sealer, removed all mounts, welded up few small holes from air box, ABS Wire (i have re-routed ABS Wire), and few other little holes, tried to keep the OE lines without smoothing.

Primer and guide coat waiting to be flatted back...

before the colour coat i covered all my car port with tarpaulin and static dust sheets, wet down the floor, trying to minimize as much dust as possible.

I wore disposable coveralls, some latex gloves and respirator. Removed both inlet and exhaust manifolds, and made sure i had taped and covered everything!

My Heater/ Drying set up, one static heater, and one blowing heater,

Then on to colour coat,

Colour coded, to match my wheels, and air tanks.

I use 2k Paint mixed with rocket, as I was painting out doors, and even with the heaters it wasn't the warmest and best condition out there.

After 2 Coats...

I'm relocating the air filter to above the gear box, with an MAF and 1.8T temp sensors built in to the inlet pipe :)

120 degree silicon pipe. I could only find 2 companies that made this degree pipe, Samco and Viper Performance.

Samco were out of stock and couldn't get any made for about 4 weeks, so then I found Viper Performance who had them in stock.

It also fits very well flipped the other way, if you want to run it the standard route over the chassis leg. Gives alot more clearance on the turret.

Then it will be linked up to 76mm alloy piping, need to put a 90 degree bend in, then get the MAF flange welded on.

I'm going to weld the MAF flange so it mounted above the gear box, as the other place would be on the other straight of the pipe above the manifold, and this could get heat soak, even thou my manifold is heat wrapped.

There's also a 1.8T temp sensor flange being welded on, but that was simple to make, so didn't need cncing.

And finally I will polish it all up :)

more coming after weekend....

P1050073_zpsed528cec.jpg.

Ground back the welds on the visable sides.

Didn't grind them back underneath or on the rear to keep a bit of added strength.

then sanded it all back going up through the grades getting it read for polishing.

P1050076_zps37e27044.jpg .

Finished on 1500grit. Sanded wet from 400 upwards.

All Polished up using 3 different grade metal polishing mops, and a heavy and a light cutting compund.

Then sorted a few more things, painted wing and bonnet, went back to my old bumper for few weeks until i paint my new one.

and built the rest of front end back up.

After 1st little test run .

yeah it does, I need to weld a mount on it, as it droops down.

Will be done next weekend while tweaking few other things :)

1st idea was to use the clamp that came with air filer,

but after trying that it still drooped slightly on the bend of the pipe.

so i will weld a mount on the pipe and bolt it on near where the 2nd water pump, and large loom plug are located.
