Lukey. 381
Obviously it'd be a lot easier if you got it on vagcom, but, try pulling the plug on the ABS unit for 20 mins and then connect it back up and going for a little drive.
paceo 22
cool i take it vag-com will say if its nearside or offside thats the problem?the abs unit is on the right side of the engine bay isnt it at the rear by the bulkhead if i rememeber?
Lukey. 381
Under the expansion tank, but I think on OBD1 the unit and the ECU are separate and the ECU is under the rear seat. I don't know for sure though as I have OBD2. It will tell you which wheel has the issue.

MaidenVR6 26
Yep, abs sensor rear right. Can be a easy to change or it can be a little more challenging. Use enough WD40/CRC
Lukey. 381
What you can do to be totally sure it's that sensor is to swap the plugs round and scan again to see if it now says the left sensor is the problem.
