paceo 22
hi guys when i release the handbrake the rear offside caliper seems to stay on a bit, after a while the disk will start to glow red a bit after driving. ive released the handbrake cable completely from this side and its still doing it. is it a case of a new caliper and thats it? regards
russj249 2
Yep if you've disconnected the cable and it still does it you need a new caliper.. they are common for sticking. If the lever on the back of the caliper is still on, you might be able to tap it with a hammer and release it. Just to get you out of trouble.
Lukey. 381
You can get some springs for an Altea that will slot on holes (with a tiny amount of adjustment and persuasion of the spring) that are already there on the calliper and handbrake arm.Mine were sticking on slightly and I would have to flick them down with my finger from underneath, these have sorted it right out for about a fiver.
