redders 0 Posted January 6, 2013 Report Share Posted January 6, 2013 Hi guys, I'm looking for some help.I'd LIKE to have the upper and lower chains n tensioners, guides etc replaced as the cars hit 110,000 now, thing it would also be sensible to replace the lifters and stem oil seals etc. I'm confident I could do this work my self, but I have no idea where to source the parts, don't really want to pay direct VW prices, but I'm guessing I might have to.I honestly have tried searching but couldn't find my answer. Lukey. 381 Posted January 6, 2013 Report Share Posted January 6, 2013 That's because they are the trade parts arm of VW though, so you have to find a vendor that is willing to sell to the public for the trade price, best to ring ahead. I have always read that if you get to 120k on the original chains with no bother, then even if they are still all fine, then change them.
