Leftoutside 0
Hi,Having a similar problem as the Ruskie. First inch of break peddle travel nothing, last few centimeters apply the breaks, pretty difficult to get the abs to kick in and/or lock the wheels. The previous problem with the bias valve has been sorted (Faulty bias valve - Damn GSF) So next stop worn master cylinder and/or caliper refubishment? Did do a quick search but didn't get any results.Cheers.
Daverse 175
have you bled the brakes since you replaced the valve?
Lukey. 381
Purge the abs pump with vagcom then drive it about for a couple of days.
Leftoutside 0
Breaks were bled by the garage that did the MOT. Gonna replace the master cylinder for piece of mind as everything else has been replaced anyway. Managed to get the abs working something fierce with the snow, heard that that has a similar/same effect as purging but cannot remember where I read that, and the peddle does appear stiffer but its still not great at all. Cheers for the comments
Lukey. 381
Yea activating the abs is the same thing, did you then try and re bleed each calliper to get the purged air out if there was any? Our abs system is notorious for being a bugger to bleed properly.
Leftoutside 0
With the weather, put everything off, wanted to replace the front wheel bearings too so was gonna attempt it all then!
