stu h 0
Right, just a quickie. The dreaded ABS light came on on my way to work this morning -noticed a few mins down the road so it may have stayed on after starting the car.I pulled over half way to work, turned the car off, left it for 30 secs and started up again and the light went out and didn't come back on.my question is (after my life story above) if it didn't / doesn't come back on should I get ge the fault code read? by not coming back on does that mean that there is no longer a fault detected in the system and I should carry on my merry way?cheers
acf8181 0
its obd1 isnt it? spoke to vince at stealth and he said if you disconnect ecu (or batt) on obd1 it clears codes.but yeah, the code is stored as of now (along with any other codes form the last few months). stu h 0
ok, cheers acf -but if the light has gone out does that mean that there is no fault detected in the system anymore and everything is tickety boo?
Mangold 0
The light will only be on when the fault is active, so if it goes out you have an intermittant fault. For your info I have a simular problem. I'm lucky enough to own vag com so I know exactly what the fault is. The fault on mine is down to an intermittant signal from the ABS hydraulic pump & I only get this fault (light on) once in a blue moon. For piece of mind if the light isn't on your ABS should be working fine.
